Grade 2 News March 26 - March 30

Posted: March 25, 2018

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a super weekend!

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday and Thursday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Please bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. This week we are sending home the list of grade 2 sight words you can keep working on. There are many we have already had, but some new ones too. This will be a good review. Circle or highlight the ones you don't know and keep working on them. We have been working on equal and unequal in Math and using the right sign. The Math homework is on this outcome. Reading comprehension is very important and we continue to work on strategies to help. Using all parts of the story is important. Sometimes the answers can be in the picture and title too. This week we are focusing on using the picture for details. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

No School - Wednesday March 28th is a PLD for teachers so there is no school for students.

Class Project With Texas - We reconnected with our friends this week after we both had our March Breaks. Luther, Keegan, Rileigh W. and Ella did an awesome job as the weather and class reporters and poetry readers. Our friends were very surprised to hear about all the snow we got. They had no snow in Texas this year! We got their letters and they made really nice bookmarks for all of us. We are working on their letters now. We did get out to check on our tulip garden. Still covered in snow with very high hills all around it!

Easter Holiday - There is no school on Good Friday March 30th and Easter Monday April 2nd.

Wishing all my students and their families a wondeerful Easter holiday!

Have a super week!
