Grade 2 News March 21- March 26

Posted: March 21, 2016

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend! Happy Spring!! I know it doesn't feel or look much like spring today. With more snow and cold temperatures, we are still in need of our winter clothing, so please make sure you are dressed for the weather.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday and Thursday.

Homework and Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. We have started doing more work on reading comprehension and reading for information. Please read the story carefully and answer the questions. Remember the answers are in the story. The spelling words this week focus on /oo/ vowel sound and /sh/ at the end of words. Math is on using a calendar. Please make sure you are reading each night and record the book on your log sheet.

Math - We are working on a unit on measurement. It is important that students know, the months of the year, days of the week and how many days are in a week and how many months make up a year. They should be able to use a calendar and see patterns in it. As well we will be using non standard units of measurement. Students can keep working on their math facts and strategies at home.

No School - Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday March 26th and Monday March 28th, for the Easter holiday.

Have a super week everyone and enjoy a wonderful Easter with your family and friends!
