Hi Everyone!

Welcome Back To School!! I am so happy to have everyone back learning at school!! Please make sure you are dressed for the weather. We will be going out to play at recess if the weather is good. Remember your hats, snow pants and mittens.

Phys. Ed

  • Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Library

  • Our library day is on Thursday. If you have any books still out, please return them so you can sign out another book.

Homework/Reading

  • The homework for the week is listed in the orange homework books.
  • Our spelling words this week focus on /ar/ words and some of the short vowel sounds we have worked on. Go over them each night and practice spelling them. We will have our test on Friday.
  • The word work activity focuses on /ar/ words as well. Read the story and highlight all the /ar/ words. Look at each box, say the word then circle the correct /ar/ spelling. Draw a picture to go with each /ar/ word.
  • There is another activity on blends and /ar/ words. Choose 2 of the /ar/ words and write a sentence for each one. Make sure your sentences begin and end properly and tell good details.
  • In Math we are working on counting with money using different coins. Remember to count by the value of each coin.
  • There is another activity on showing numbers in different ways. We have been working on different ways to show numbers. Look at each box and write the number in the box it is showing. Circle all the boxes that show the number 33.
  • Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Masks

  • It is very important that students have proper fitting masks that cover their mouth and nose.
  • Please send 2 clean masks with your child each day.

Water Bottles

  • Just a reminder that we can’t drink from the fountains.
  • Please send in a water bottle for your child to use at school. They can refill them during the day at the fountains.

Home Learning Packs

  • Please return all reading books and completed work to school.
  • The Math Games and other materials can be kept at home and added to the Home Learning Kit.
  • These are good games to play to work on math facts and skills.

Have an awesome, fun week Grade 2! It will be wonderful to have everyone back together again!
