Grade 2 News February 25 - March 1

Posted: February 24, 2019

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed Days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. The spelling words for the week focus on more than one and adding /s/ to the ending. The word work activity is on this focus as well. With the writing activity we are working on using voice in our writing. What would you do if a genie granted you 2 wishes? Add good details and voice. In math we are starting a new unit on measurement and using the calendar. Do you know the days of the week and the months of the year? This is something to work on at home too. Make sure you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Pink Shirt Day - Pink Shirt Day is on Wednesday February 27th. Students and staff are asked to wear pink to take a stand against bullying.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - The test and pledge sheets will go home with the students on Monday February 25th so that they can collect any money owed. All pledge money is due back on Thursday February 28th.

100th Day Of School - We will be celebrating the 100th Day Of School on Friday March 1st, as long as there are no storm days. A memo was sent home on Friday, outlining some of the activities we will be doing. The students are asked to bring in a 100 Collection. As well the K-2 classes are hoping to collect 100 food items for the Food Bank. We ask students and staff to bring in a food item if they can. We will be working on lots of activities at school as well.

Have a tremendous week!

Enjoy your March Break!!
