Hi Everyone!

• I  hope you had a fun Family Day long weekend!
• Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.  
• It would be a good idea to have an extra pair of mittens and socks in your backpack.

Phys. Ed

• Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Library

• Our library day is on Tuesday.
• Make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Reading

• The homework for the week is listed in the orange homework books.
• Spelling words for the week focuses on the /ay/ vowel sound that makes the /a/ say its own name.
• We will be working on them at school and sending them home to work on for homework.
• We will do a test on the words on Friday.
• Please continue with our sight word sheets. Remember to have the Homework Helper sign the list when you know all the words.
• The word work activity focuses on adding a beginning sound or blend to make /ay/ words Pick two words and write a sentence for each one. Make sure to add good details and begin and end your sentence the right way.
• In Math we are working on using a calendar. Use the calendar on the page to problem solve and answer the questions.
• Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Fundraising Campaign – NUMER-ACTION

• We had our activity day for our Numer-Action Fundraiser on Tuesday February 21^st.
• The students were involved in physical activity and math related activities throughout the day. They also completed their math fact test.
• Students were asked to collect pledges for the amount of time they spent on activities.
• If you have not returned your pledge sheet yet, please have it in this week.
• All money raised goes to the Student Council in support of student activities.
• All pledge money is due back on Thursday March 2^nd.

100^th Day Of School

• As of now our 100^th Day of School will be on Friday February 24^th.
• Students are asked to bring their collection of 100 things.
• Please bring an item for the Food Bank if you can. We are teaming up with the K-2 classes to try and collect 100 items for the Food Bank.

 Spirit Week

• Our 3^rd School Spirit Week will take place next week, February 27^th- March 3^rd.
• Below is a list of the theme days.
• Monday – Hoodie and or Toque Day
• Tuesday – Neon/Rainbow/Tie-Dye Day
• Wednesday – Crazy Hair and Snazzy Sock Day
• Thursday – School Colours or School Clothing Day
• Friday – PJ or Jersey Day

March Break

• The March Break this year is March 6^th – March 10^th .

Water Bottles

• Just a reminder to bring in a water bottle that you can refill and use throughout the day.
