Hi Everyone!

  • I  hope you had a good long weekend !
  • Please make sure you are dressed for the weather.

Phys. Ed

  • Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Library

  • Our library day is on Tuesday.
  • All library books are due back this week.
  • We will not be taking any books out this week and will start again in January.

Homework/Reading

  • The homework for the week is listed in the orange homework books.
  • Spelling words for the week focuses on the long /a/ and bossy or silent /e/ vowel sounds that make the vowel say their own name.
  • We will be working on them at school and sending them home to work on for homework.
  • We will do a test on the words on Friday.
  • Please continue with our sight word sheets. Remember to have the Homework Helper sign both sides of the sheet when you know all the words.
  • The word work activity focuses on words that have the long /a/, bossy /e/ vowel sound. Look at the picture. Say the word. Can you spell the word? Listen for the sounds, blends, and vowel sounds. Pick 2 words and write a sentence for each one. Make sure your sentence begins and ends properly and has good details.
  • In Math we are working on counting by 5s to 75, and 10s starting at 4 and going to 104. We have started counting with money. Count the coins in each row and put the total value. Remember we count by the value of the coin. If you can’t remember what the coin is, check the bottom of the page.
  • Choose one book from the reading bag to read each night. Use your strategies to help with the reading and record your book on the log sheet.

Christmas Shop

  • Our annual Christmas Shop will take place in the library on Monday December 12th and Tuesday, December 13th.
  • Students can bring money to shop for their family.
  • Items are between $1 and $2.

  • Our first skating day will be on Thursday December 22nd.
  • Students will need skates and a helmet.
  • If your child does not have skates or a helmet, we do have some extras at the school that they can use. Please let me know this week, so we can get them a pair to fit.
  • Parents/Guardians are welcome to come, please note that you must have skates on to go on the ice.

Water Bottles

  • Just a reminder to bring in a water bottle that you can refill and use throughout the day.
