Hi Everyone!
I hope you had a fun weekend. I know the calendar says that it is April and spring, but we still have a lot of snow out there. Please make sure you are dressed for the weather. It would be a good idea to keep an extra pair of socks and a change of clothes in your bookbag.
Our Phys.Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We are supposed to go snow shoeing for Tuesday's class, so make sure you are dressed to go.
Scholastic Book Orders
If you would like to order a book from the April Book Club, please have your order in by Friday April 11th.
Class Project With Texas
We connected with our friends on Friday. Garrett, Sylvia and Trysten did a super job as the reporters and poetry reader. In Texas it definitely looks and feels like spring. Around the city the flowers are up and blooming, the trees are blossoming and the birds are out and singing. On Friday it was 28C there. It is a little different here. They could not believe how much snow we had. When we checked on Friday there was 85cm of snow on the garden. The students were very excited to get their letters last week. We have been busy working on our letters, self portriats and posters. We will send them off next week.
Math
We are finishing up our unit on Measurement this week. After that we will be starting a new unit on adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers. Please keep working on your facts and strategies at home.
Easter Lunch Special
If you would like to order the Easter special from the cafeteria, you have to pre-order by April 10. The cost is $6.00.
Borrow-A-Book/Reading Comprehension
Please make sure you are reading your book each night and recording it on your log sheet. Use the strategies we have been working on to help with your reading. When you are doing the reading comprehension story for homework, remember to read the whole story. Use the pictures and the title. Go back and reread if you can't remember the answer.
Have an awesome week!
