Grade 2 News April 27 - May 1

Posted: April 27, 2015

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. Believe it or not we are still getting some snow and cooler temperatures, even though it is the end of April. Students should keep a pair of mitts or gloves, a hat and an extra pair of socks in their book bag, so they are there if you need them.   Phys. Ed Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday and Tuesday.    Library Our library day is on Wednesday, please bring back your book so you can get another one.   Math We are working on our unit of Adding and Subtracting 2-digit numbers. So far we have been focusing on adding and creating our own strategies. The students are finding ways that are easy for them to add the numbers. It is important that we show our thinking and be able to tell how we found the answer. Keep working on your math facts and strategies at home.  Homework/Borrow-A-Book The homework for the week is listed in the blue folder. As this is only a three day week, we will not be having a spelling list. The students will review the grade 2 sight word list. Please make sure you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet.  No School Just a reminder that there is no school for students on Thursday April 30th and Friday May 1st.   Class Project With Texas We were not able to do our report with our friends as they had another event happening. We are hoping to connect on Tuesday. We were out to check on our garden and counted 89 tulips emerging along with some snow on the garden. They are getting bigger and the snow doesn't seem to be hurting them.  Have a super week!
