Grade 2 News April 18 - 15

Posted: April 20, 2016

Hi Everyone!

I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weekend we had. Hopefully the temperatures will stay warmer.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - We have library on Friday, please make sure you bring your book back so you can get another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the green folders. Our reading comprehension and writing focus on Earth Day and how we can help the earth. Math is dealing with measuring using non-standard units with mass and there is a review sheet as well. The spelling this week is on /ing/ endings. For some words we have to drop the /e/ and add /ing/ and for others we have to double the last letter and add/ing/. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Math - We are finishing up our unit on measurement. Later this week we will be starting a unit on adding and subtracting to 100, with 2 digit numbers. Continued work on math facts and strategies at home will help with this.

Earth Day - Earth Day is on Friday April 22nd. We are asking all staff and students to wear blue and green in honour of our planet. Also to try and bring a litter less lunch on that day. We are trying to throw out as little garbage as possible. This week we are also focussing on what we can do to help the planet. We all have to do our part to take care of it.

Have a fabulous week
