Hi there! I hope you enjoyed the lovely Fall weekend. It's hard to believe that summer is gone and we are now into Fall. The leaves are starting to change colour and the frost has arrived. That said, please be sure to dress for the weather, as we will be going outside so wear a warmer jacket and your rubber boots, especially in the mornings. This week we have practiced school fire drills, bus evacuation and lock down. Please review the DINO-safety bus rules pamphlet that will go home on Monday, as well as practicing two ways to safely get out of your house and go to your meeting place, in case of a fire. Thanks!

We have a very busy week ahead with some very special events coming up. I am excited to get our week started.

Phys. Ed - We have classes every day except Thursday. Please dress in comfortable clothes, wear a t-shirt under your sweatshirt.

Library-We visit the library on Thursday. Please return your book (in the library bag} so you will be able to sign out your new book. You may keep your book for the week.

Fletcher's Farm Field Trip- On Tuesday, Sept. 26th we will be walking from the school to Fletcher's Farm. We will leave for 9:00am and return in time for lunch. There is no charge for students. Please dress for the weather. It is prefered that the children wear rubber boots as the field is very wet early in the morning. Thanks!

Terry Fox Walk- Our annual school Terry Fox walk will be held on Thursday Sept. 28th at 1:00pm.The K-2 students will be walking around the soccer field and ball field. All are welcome to join us on our walk. We have been talking about Terry and his amazing Marathon of Hope which he began 43 years ago, when he couragously walked a maraton a day for 143 days across Canada, raising money for cancer research. Please share your thoughts of Terry with your child. Terry is truly one of my heroes, I was totally amazed at what he achieved in 1980 and the work that continues to be done annually in Terry's name.It is quite a legacy! We are asking that students bring in a small donation for our walk. I encouraged the children to try, like Terry and help out at home with a chore (clean up their toys, help put away their clothes or dishes etc.) to earn some money for the Marathon of Hope. Thank you so much for your support!

Orange Shirt Day-We ask that all staff and students wear an orange shirt on Friday Sept.29th. We will be reading stories about Orange Shirt Day and Mrs. Maloney will be in to talk with our class, play her drum and sing for us. Please speak with your child about the importance of this special day. Thanks so much.

Wow, we sure have a very busy week planned, I am soooo excited to share these special events with my Kinders. Let's have an awesome week in Kindergarten! SMile and be kind to each other! ~Mrs. Sullivan-Goguen :) Happy Fall, everyone!
