Hi there! I hope everyone had a fun weeked with family and friends. I huge thank you to all of you for your donations to our Terry Fox Walk. We far surpassed our goal of $40 dollars and raised $107! Totally amazing everyone!!! The children got to enjoy a longer recess on the playground and a popsicle for their great work!! I am very proud of the children for carrying on Terry's dream.

Homework- "My ABC book" will be going home today. Please read the memo explaining how to trace the letters and read the book. The book has pictures of each zoo-phonics animal. The children will be practicing correct formation for each letter and identify the letter name\sound and zoo-phonic animal as they read through the book. This will be a great review, especially for those who do not know all letters and sounds yet. Please take 10 minutes each night to read the book. You can do a few pages each night or read the whole book, whichever is best for you and your child. I will also be sending 1 Borrow-A-Book home for the children to read a few times during the week.Students will read their books throughout the week (Monday-Thursday) and return the books on Friday. Be sure to fill out the reading log and have your child print their name on the sheet. Please return all books in the ziplock even the paper copy books that your children coloured (for ex.Welcome to Kindergarten book and Letter Aa book). The children will use these books in their reading bags in class.Thanks.

Library -We go to the library every Tuesday. Please bring your book back to school (in the library zip lock bag) so that you will be able to sign out a new book.

Phys.Ed classes- We have gym class every Wednesday to Friday. Please dress in comfortable clothing on these days.

Apple Orchard- The Kindergarten classes will be visiting the apple orchard on Wednesday October 7th. The cost is $5 and will be covered by the student council. Please bring a lunch as we will be eating at the orchard and there is no microwave available to heat food. Dress for the weather and wear your rubber boots as the orchard can be wet early in the mornings. We will be travelling by bus and will leave school around 9:30 and return by 12:00.

This week is Fire Prevention week. The theme is ‘Serve up Fire Safety in the kitchen”. We will be talking about ways to stay safe and practice a fire drill. Please talk with your children about ways to be safe at home, check your smoke detectors and practice fire drills and going to your meeting place at home. Thanks!
