Posted: November 5, 2023

Hi there! It has been a chilly November weekend but, the sun was shining and warmed the afternoons. I hope you were able to get out for a walk or have fun in the leaves. With the chillier weather be sure to dress warm for our mornings, wear your hats and mittens.

Homework- We are continuing to read the The focus is for the children to trace the letters properley and recognize each letter\sound. Please focus on those letters your child does not know yet. Please return the "Halloween Counting" and "I See Halloween" book. The children will use these books in their reading sacks at school.Remember to record each night what your child reads and please have your child print their own name on the sheet each time they read. Please do not record library books or books that you have read from home. This week the children have a Remembrance Day book going home on Tuesday to read each night. Be sure to have them point to each word and stop reading at the period. See if they can follow the pattern of the story, "Here is a...." Can they figure out unknown words by saying the beginning letter sound and sounding out the rest of the word.

Letter Sound Fluency Sheet- In the plastic folder you will find a letter sound fluency page. The goal is for students to say the letter sound quickly and colour the happy face at the end of the line when they do. Please circle any letters in the row that your child did not know. We will focus on these letters in class. Thanks!

Phys. Ed- We have phys.ed classes everyday but Thursday this week. Please dress in comfortable clothes, wear a t-shirt, sweat pants.

Library- We visit the library on Thursday. Please remember to return your book each week. Students will not be alllowed to sign out another book until the previous book is returned. If you forget your book bring it the next day, please.

Secret Path Week- We have surpassed our goal walking 79 km.Great job, Kinders! Thank you everyone for your support.

Please remember to bring your water bottle everyday.

School Remembrance Day Ceremony- Once again we will be having our Remembrance Day ceremony in the gym on Friday Nov.10th at 10:00am.Parents are invited to attend, but we have limited seating. Please send in a poppy donation. Thanks!

On Rememberance Day,November 11th, please take time to remember those who sacrificed their lives so we could live in a safe, free and beautiful country. We have been talking about the importance of Remembrance Day in class. It is important that you please speak to your little ones about this topic at home. Perhaps you have family members who served, and you can share stories about them. If possible, please try to attend a Rememberance Day ceremony with your little one or watch the national ceremony from Ottawa on TV, or pause for a 2 minutes of silence at 11:00, to remember and give thanks. For our tomorrow they gave their today! WE WILL REMEMBER THEM!
