Kinder Korner News Nov. 14th-18th

Posted: November 13, 2022

Hello everyone! It was a wet and chilly weekend and the week looks similar,so please dress for the weather. We have a short week ahead of us, here's what's happening in Kindergarten,

We would like to welcome Maddox to our class. We are so excited to have you join us!

Literacy- Read your Borrow-A-Books each night. You will have 4 books this week. Be sure to read 1 or 2 books each night. It is very important to continue to read the ABC Letter Tracing Book nightly, especially if your child is still working on recognizing each letter\sound. With your finger, trace each letter by following the arrows. Say each letter name as you trace bothe the upper and lower letter.Say the letter sound and animal name.ex.Aa alligator. When your child recognizes all the letters, then focus on the letter sounds. As students read the three books, have them point to each word and stop at the period.Use the pictures for cues to help identify the words. Students should be recognizing some familiar sight words like: I, see, a, the, to, at, go. Please remember to fill in the reading log each night and have your child print their name.Return your borrow-a-book bag back to class on Thursday.

Library- We visit the library on Thursday. Keep the book for the week and return it the following Thursday. Happy reading!

Phys. Ed. Classes this week are on Tuesday and Thursday. Dress in comfortable clothes.

Home & School Cookie Dough Fundraiser- All orders are due on Tuesday November, 15th. A form went home and orders can be placed online at Fundraising Ideas | Mom's Pantry Fundraising Specialists (momspantry.ca).

No School for Students on Friday November 18th. This is a Professional Learning day for Teachers.

Remember to pack your water bottle each day.

Looking forward to seeing all my little Kinders on Monday. Smile and be kind to each other! :)
