Well-Being Play Book

Posted: April 14, 2020

Take some time to browse the WE FaceBook page. This is a perfect way to get your daily reading in.

The above link can be found on a post on that page from Friday April 10th. From this link you can down load a free book called "Well-Being Play Book" This book is filled with ideas and concepts we have been working with all year and have heard before, it will not only provide review but reinforce what we have been learning.

Take time to read the book and complete the activities. This can be daily reading which you could do writing responses for. You could also do persuasive writing pieces on the importance of the ideas and concepts in the book like the importance of develop routine in our life, Why we should turn off our cell phones at night, the importance of sleep, why a proper diet is important, the value of helping others, there are certainly lots of persuasive writing ideas in the book!

You could also use the readings in the book as pieces to prove credibility using your checklist from Mr. Bosma’s page and send your proof to him. Don’t forget to back up what you are saying if you choose to do this.

Challenge

Create a persuasive video to help others based on the concepts in the book. To do this you will need to read and do a little research on the topic, write a script and then do a video trying to persuade others to incorporate the healthy practice you have chosen into their lives.

Remember you are the best people to encourage healthy habits in our younger students ~they look up to you and what you say holds value to them.

Send me your videos and I will post them on our school web site.

Quarantine is providing us with the perfect opportunity to do for others. This is a time to be creative and to use social media to connect. I look forward to watching your videos. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me or send your drafts (written or video) if you want my input.

After watching my video someone may want to do a persuasive video on not touching our faces.

Possible topics from the book;

  • Get enough sleep / Creating routine in our sleep patterns

  • Get enough water

  • Eat well

  • Exercise

  • Connect to others

  • Unplug

  • Get outside

Possible Covid Good Practices to use as topics;

  • Wash your hands

  • Stay more than 2 m from others

  • Cough, sneeze into your elbow

  • Don’t touch your face

  • Stay home and practice social distancing

I know this isn’t everyone’s area of Mutiple Intelligence but it is an opportunity for everyone to grow and develop skills. If you choose to do a video and don’t want to share it that is ok too. I will only share videos with permission.

I wasn't able to get my video up here but it is on FB on the parent information page.
