CBC Music Contest:
Finalists have been announced for the CBC Music Class Challenge. Two of our groups made the TOP ten list in their categories: from over 115 school entries across Canada, our Primary Chorus was selected for their rendition of a beautiful Cree Lullaby called “Nikamo”. Good Luck to our grade 2 and 3 students. Our Elementary Chorus was chosen as finalists from over 180 schools across the country for their performance of a folk song called “Little Spruce”. Good luck to those who participated from grade 4 and 5. Winners will be announced next week. Only one group per category can win so we should celebrate making the Top 10 List of Finalists and enjoy this honor for the next week. Good luck to both Nelson Rural groups still in the running.
Special mention to our Middle School chorus who unfortunately did not make the Top 10 cut in their category. They did a wonderful job on their song, Wintergreen by the East Pointers. We are so proud of them for participating and giving it their all. We’ll try again next year!
