November 4th- Home Learning

Posted: November 4, 2021

Good morning! I hope everyone had a good day yesterday and got outside for some fresh air.

Here is what I would like everyone to work on today:

Writing:Share a special memory that you have with one of your teachers: (Make a list of all the teachers you have had over the years, then choose one of those teachers and tell a story about your favourite memory that you share with them.

*If you prefer to send it to me in an email, please send it to abby.sullivan@nbed.nb.ca. I enjoy reading them throughout the day! If not, remember to keep your writing pieces together and bring them with you when we go back to school.

Reading:Please work on the reading comprehension, “Funny Faces” that is in your home learning packet. While reading, use a highlighter or pencil to underline the important information if that is a strategy that helps you.

Please read for 20 minutes. It can be a chapter book that you have been reading, multiple picture books, recipe cards, comic books, or a story that you created yourself. Just make sure you are reading!!

*Remember to keep track of the books you are reading in your log.

Math:Warm up- practice your 1, 2, 3 & 5 multiplication facts up until 12.

EX: 1x0=? 1x1=? 1x2=?…. 1x12=? 2x0=? 2x1=? 2x2=?…. 2x12 =? and so on. Remember the rules for them. Write them down and try to do it as quickly as possible.

Be sure to participate in the ‘Rock and Roll’ Numeracy activity. I have attached it below. Try to focus on the second page, counting the rocks by 3’s, 4’s and 5’s and placing them in groups. This will help with our multiplication facts! If you are looking for a challenge, try out the division suggestions.

As always send your creations my way, I would love to see all your rock designs.

Make sure to try and spend most of your day outside, it is supposed to be another beautiful sunny day! Enjoy and have fun! Hope to see you soon grade four!

Please send me an email at abby.sullivan@nbed.nb.ca if I can help in any way, or if you have questions about the activities.

Have a good day!

Ms. Sullivan
