Nelson Rural 1st Annual Striper Cup

Posted: May 8, 2019

Nelson Rural School will be hosting their 1st Annual Striper Cup next week.  On Monday and Tuesday, students will be lining the shores of the Miramichi River across from their school in hopes to make a great catch.  This initiative is part of our Positive Learning Environment Plan to promote a sense of belonging and grade 8 leadership program.  Thank you to Tony Svark and the Miramichi Valley Fishing Club for coming out to train our grade 8 students in bait and rod.  Our grade 8 students will be aiding our younger students next week when they take to the shore.  Parents and invited guests are welcome to join us and Home and School will have a BBQ lunch for purchase on both days as well.  A memo was sent home with students today for parent information.

Parents please note: There was one error regarding cookbooks-these books were actually created and prepared by all grades 3-5 elementary classes.

Please do not send any money for BBQ in advance as this is a little difficult to keep track.  This money is for Home and School so just have students bring it on the day of their BBQ.

Money for cookbook ($5) can be brought in now if you choose, but right now we mostly needed a number so we know how many books to make.
