Good afternoon, Nelson Rural Families. 

Minister Cardy announced the new Winter Plan for education yesterday afternoon, along with the confirmation that the last day of classes for students in Grades 7 and 8 will be Tuesday, December 21^st. The last day for students in Grades K-6 will be this Friday, December 17^th. Students in Grades 9-12 will finish at noon on Thursday, December 23^rd. 

Please read the attached letter from Minister Cardy for more details on yesterday’s announcements. His letter also provides directions for the Holiday Testing Program. 

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and Department of Health have worked together to develop and implement additional measures aimed at keeping our students healthy, safe and learning in-person to the greatest extent possible throughout the winter months.
