Hi Everyone! I hope you had a fun weekend and enjoyed the nice weather we had.      Our Phys. Ed days this week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.       Library We have library on Friday. Make sure your bring your book back so you can get another one.   Remembrance Day Service Our school Remembrance Day Service is on Tuesday November 10th, at 10:00AM. Please join us if you can. Students are asked to bring in a donation for a poppy.     Remembrance Day Remembrance Day is on Wednesday November 11th. There is no school on this day. Please take some time to remember those brave men and women who fought for our freedom and for those still serving our country today. Lest We Forget.   Homework/Borrow-A-Book The homework for the week is listed in the blue folders. Our spelling words this week focus on the short /u/ vowel sound. The writing this week is about Remembrance Day. We have done a lot of activitiies with this and have read stories about why we have Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy. Make sure your writing has good details. Math is a review of the concepts we have been working on so far in our unit on Numbers to 100. Please make sure you read each night, use the strategies we have been working on, and record your book on the log sheet.  Math In math we are starting to work on estimation with numbers to 100.  When we estimate, we make a good guess of about how many things we think there are in a group. Sometimes it can help to make a small group of the items first and then estimate about how many. You can still work at home on counting money, especially a group of different coins. Keep working on counting in different ways.  Class Project With Texas Eddie, Alexis and Hunter did a wonderful job as the; weather reporter, class news reporter and poetry reader. Our friends received our letters in the mail and were very happy to get them. They are working on writing our letters now. We can't wait to get them! We will Skype with them again on Thursday for our weekly report.   Food Bank Our school is collecting items for the Food Bank until Christmas Break. Please bring in an item if you can.    Have a super week! Please take time to remember.

Our connection was great and the students really enjoyed connecting with our new friends. Rory, Anna and Cailin did a super job as the class reporter, weather reporter and poetry reader. We can't wait to meet again on Thursday.  Scholastic Book Club If you would like to order a book from this month's Scholastic Book Club, please have your order in by Thursday November 5th.     Homework/Borrow-A-Book The homework for the week is listed in the blue folders. This is a review week for our spelling program, so there will be 12 words that they have already had. Math will focus on counting in different ways, money and ordinals. We are starting some extra work with vowels, so the word work focuses on the short vowel sounds. Our writing main idea is on Bats, make sure you tell interesting details and begin and end your sentences the right way. Please make sure that you read your book each night and record it on the log sheet.  Food Drive Our school will be collecting items for the Food Bank until December.
