Grade 2 News - January 28th - February 1st

Posted: January 27, 2019

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a fun weekend! We had a lot of messy weather, so please make sure you are dressed for the weather. It would be a good idea to keep an extra pair of socks and mittens in your book bag in case you need them.

No School - Just a reminder that there is no school for students on Monday January 28th as it is a PLD for teachers.

Skating - We have skating with our buddy class 3-4T on Tuesday January 29th. Students will need their skates and helmet. Parents and grandparents are welcome to come, but please note that you need skates to be on the ice.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days this week are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Tuesday, so make sure you bring your book back so you can sign out another one.

Homework/Borrow-A-Book - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folder. We will have the same spelling words as last week, as we did not have as much time to work on them. Our word work activity will be on blends. In math we are working on adding and subtracting and word problems. Remember to use the strategies we have been working on to help with the adding and subtracting. Please make sure you are reading your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Spell-A-Thon - We will have our Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser kick off on Thursday January 31st. Students will receive their information packs on this day. It is also School Colours Day, so students are asked to wear school clothing or colours.

Have a super week!
