Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a great weekend! The temeperatures are going up and down, but are colder to start the week, so please make sure you are dressed for the weather.

Phys. Ed - Our Phys. Ed days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Skating - The students had fun skating on Monday. Please note that our next skating day is next Thursday March 3rd. The ice time is 9:00 - 9:40am. Students will need skates and helmets. Parents and grandparents, please join us if you can.

Library - Our library day is on Friday. Make sure you bring your book back so you can get out another one.

Homework - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words focus on the /ay/ vowel sound. Please make sure that you are reading each night and record your book on the log sheet. Make sure you use the strategies we have been working on in class. Math focuses on adding numbers in different ways and how many more. When we are reading a story, sometimes the pictures can tell some important details. Use the picture to answer the questions in the story. Word work is on using the right word endings.

Math - We are finishing up our unit on Addition and Subtraction to 18. Keep working on your facts and strategies at home. This week we are working on how many more and using mental math strategies to add three or more numbers. The 100th Day of School is coming up, so we will be working on lots of different ways to make 100.

100th Day Of School - We will be celebrating the 100th Day Of School on Thursday February 25th, providing there are no storm days in between. Each student was sent home a numbered triangle to help make our quilt. Another activity we are working on is our collection of 100 things. Bags were sent home with the students for this activity. Please send them back when you have it completed. As well we are working with the K-2 classes to collect 100 items for the Food Bank. If you can send in an item to help us out, that would be great.

Class Project With Texas - Cailin, Cadie and Rory did a great job as the reporters and poetry reader. Our friends told us they had fun on their winter break. We will meet with them again on Thursday.

Have an awesome week!!
