Posted: January 31, 2016

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend and got outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and have some fun! It is hard to believe that we are starting the month of February! It is a busy month, so check back to keep up to date with what is going on.

Phys. Ed -  Our Phys. Ed days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Library - Our library day is on Friday, so make sure you bring your book so you can get another one.

Spell-A-Thon Fundraiser - Our major school fundraiser will take place during the month of February. The kick off assembly will be on Monday February 1st. This will also be School Colours Day. Fundraising packs will go home on Monday, so watch for this information.

Homework - The homework for the week is listed in the orange folders. Our spelling words will be the ones for the Spell-A-Thon. Math focuses on finding the missing number and using strategies to help. We are working more on reading comprehension and reading for details. There is a story for the students to read and they must answer the questions in complete sentences. We are continuing to work on using voice in our writing, so students are to use that in their writing piece. Please make sure you are reading your book each night and record it on the log sheet.

Math - We are continuing with our unit on addition and subtraction to 18. Students should keep working on their math facts and strategies at home. We are focussing this week on finding the missing number in addition and subtraction.

Class Project With Texas - We did not get to do our report this week, as Ms. Sands was out sick. We are hoping to do 2 reports this week. We were busy working on our letters and valentine's cards to send them. We are sending them out on Wednesday.

Have a wonderful week!
